Tours start at the B&O Railroad Museum parking lot, at the corner of Pratt and Poppleton.  Tours include the Lemmon Street houses, St. Peter's Church, and the Hollins Market.  Call (410) 669-8154 to reserve larger groups.

The Memorial Mass will be held on May 17th at St. Peter The Apostle Church on 13 North Poppleton Street. There will be a reception to be held at the Irish Shrine immediately following the Mass at a cost of $5.00 per person.  For more information, please call 410-669-8154.

The Baltimore Irish Festival is at the Canton Waterfront Park with FREE parking and FREE admission on Friday, September 15th from 6PM-9PM and Saturday, September 16th from Noon-9PM. There will be continual Irish music and dancing, as well as Irish vendors and Irish food. Proceeds from the Festival is slated to go to several local charities, including our the Irish Rail Road Workers Museum. Check out their website at www.baltimoreirishfest.com. 

Dennis is a well known photographer who specializes in photographs of Irish scenery as well as Irish culture.  We will host a photographic exhibit showing Dennis' works through the month of June.  Join us on Saturday, June 4th 2005 for a special "Meet the Artist" day from 11am to 2pm. 

After rave reviews, this bus tour is back!  Once again priced at a reasonable $20 per person, this tour is a wonderful way to learn about your Irish heritage and support the museum.  For those of you who dislike shopping, this tour makes an excellent early Christmas present.  The day will start at 10:00 am with a tour of the museum, and then a bus will leave for a tour of Immigration Park in Locust Point at 11:30am.  Lunch (on your own) will be served at J. Patrick's with the owner giving the history of J. Patrick's.  At 1:30 the bus will leave to tour other Irish Sites in the area before going to Fells Point to tour the Irish Heritage places there, including a stop for a beverage at an Irish Pub.  The bus will return to the museum at 3:00pm.

Wayne is a well known Baltimore historian, and his lecture promises to be both interesting and educational. Join us on Saturday, December 8th 2007 for this free special event beginning at 11:30. Museum tours will also be available Saturday, led by the incomparable Bill Byrnes who will dazzle you with Irish charm and wit.

On Sunday October 25th, the Irish Shrine will introduce a new audio component that will re-create the atmosphere of, and allow visitors to fully experience, the everyday life of Baltimore's 19th century Irish immigrants. The grand opening will include a reception at 2pm, and is free to the public. After the grand opening, the new exhibits will be on permanent display at the museum.

The museum is always available for visitors. A glass wall allows visitors to see inside the museum from the back yard.  The museum is available on most Saturdays for a guided tour of the inside of the museum plus a screening of our Baltimore Irish history video.  To verify times and dates, call (410) 669-8154. 

All tours and museum visits are free. Special events may have a fee. Contributions to the Railroad Historical District Corporation or purchases of bricks are always welcome, and can be made during the tour.  Ask your tour guide for more information.

The walking tour is a fascinating glimpse at Irish life in the 1840's. We will start the tour at the place where the Irish Worked, the B&O railroad yards.  A short walk away, we will continue the tour at the Irish Shrine, where you will have the opportunity to explore the narrow alley houses where the Irish workers lived.  We will then walk up Poppleton Street to St. Peter's Church, where we will be greeted and be given information on the history of the church. The tour will stop for a quick lunch at the Hollins Street Market or at Patrick's of Pratt Street, a local Irish pub.  After lunch, we will wind up our day with a visit to St. Peter's Cemetery. The tour is broken into two parts, plus an optional lunch at Patrick's Pub. The first half of the tour takes about 1.5 hours. After a 45 minute lunch break, the second half of the tour goes to St. Peter's Cemetery, which is about a 15 minute drive from the B&O Railroad Museum. After a short introduction to the cemetery, you will have an opportunity to explore the grounds on your own. You may leave at any point during the tour.
